Wilma Lee Mitchem Redden, 64, died Sunday, August 12, 2012 at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. Born May 29, 1948 in Raleigh, West Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Sam Alfred and Laffon Brown Mitchem. She married Melvin Russell Redden in 1967; he died in 1992. She enjoyed playing bingo, painting and she was a member of the American Legion. She was of the Baptist faith.
A Celebration of Life Service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, August 15, 2012 at E.E. Pickle Funeral Home Chapel in Amory with Bro. Robert Earl Fowlkes officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Lawn Cemetery in Aberdeen. Pallbearers will be Chris Mitchem, Donnie Stacy, Danny Morris, Jerry Morris, Eric Ray, Lucas Jimenez, Scott Carter, and Wayne Butler. Honorary pallbearers will be Doug Davis, Brandon Murff, J.J. Carter, and Timmy Logan.
Survivors include her son, Joseph Redden (Cathy) of Aberdeen; 5 sisters, Edith McQuillen (Bill) of Georgia, Barbara Lewis (Clayton) of West Virginia, Mary Gorbutt (Lee) of Amory, Sara Haggerty (John) of West Virginia, Debbie Davis of Amory, and Kathy Krausa (Walter) of Aberdeen; 3 brothers, Woody Mitchem of Aberdeen, Dale Mitchem (Margie) of Aberdeen, and David Mitchem (Julie) of Nettleton; granddaughter, Amy Mize of Aberdeen; and great granddaughter, Lydiah Jimenez.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and by brothers and sisters, Fairlena, Danny, Jimmy, and Doug.
Visitation will be 5 until 8 p.m. Tuesday evening and will continue until service time on Wednesday.
