– Willie Kay Odom, 91, died on Sunday, January 30, 2011, at Golden Living Center, Amory. Born on May 6, 1919, in Monroe County, she was a daughter of the late Jim Hall and Martha Best Gosa.A lifelong resident of Becker before moving to Amory in 1973, Mrs. Odom attended Becker School. A seamstress, she worked for Seminole and Glenn Manufacturing. Mrs. Odom was also a caregiver for her son, J. W. The matriarch of her family, she believed in taking care of others in her stern yet lovingly and compassionate ways. Mrs. Odom attended Antioch Baptist Church. She cherished the time spent with her grandchildren. Mrs. Odom enjoyed traveling, Gospel music, flower and vegetable gardening, and quilting. Survivors include her daughters, Ruby (Ed) Wright and Joyce (Lloyd) Howell, of Amory; son, James (Linda) Odom, Amory; grandchildren, Susan (Jim) Concar, Darnell (Scott) Reeves, Shellie (Rickey) Moffett, Melissa (Connie) Cowley, Teresa Howell, Craig (Brandi) Howell, Tawanna Brown, Brandon (Jeny) Odom and Sonia Wright; 19 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Clarence, Hershel and Ira Green Gosa; sons, Bobby Joe and J. W. Odom; and a grandson, Jamie Odom.A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2 PM, Wednesday at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home with Bro. Robert E. Fowlkes officiating. Burial will follow in Greenbrier Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Rickey and Jake Moffett, Brandon Odom, Craig Howell, Connie Cowley, Brad Pinkerton and Bryce Cowley. Honorary pallbearers will be the nurses and aides at Golden Living Center.Visitation will continue until the service hour on Wednesday.Memorials may be given to Greenbrier Cemetery, % Glo Herring, 505 7th St. S, Amory, MS 38821.Memories and condolences may be shared with the family at eepicklefuneralhome.com.
