William C. Towery

Smithville – William Cluster “WC” Towery, 76, died on Friday, December 12, 2014, at Gilmore Regional Medical Center, Amory, MS. Born on June 8, 1938, in Smithville, MS he was a son of the late Cluster Towery and Perlie Johnson Towery.

Towery attended Oak Hill School. He married Joyce Johnson Towery on April 3, 2001. WC was a truck driver and he also served in the Army National Guard. He was a member of the North Boulevard Christian Church. He enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing, woodworking and working on things. His favorite music is gospel and country. He was passionate about children and donated to St. Joseph’s Lakota Sioux Indian School, SD. Above all, God was the most important to him.

Survivors include his wife, Joyce; daughters, Pamela Viitala (Daniel), Dexter, Michigan, Sindy Northington (Brett), Amory, Susan Logan (Steve), Amory, Crystal Towery, Fulton; and son, Dennis Mason of Antioch, Illinois; daughter-in-law, Charlotte Mason, Fulton; sister, Bernice Lloyd, Amory; brother, Bobby Joe Towery (Mavis), Fulton; twenty grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Peggy Johnson; son, James Mason; a sister, Mildred Bridges and brother, R.C. and Eddie Towery.

A Memorial Service will be held 11 AM, Thursday, December 18, 2014, at E.E. Pickle Funeral Home with Bro. Ferman Anderson officiating. Visitation will be from 9 AM until 10:50 AM at the funeral home.
