Amory – William Dennis Phillips, 78, went to meet The Lord on Monday, November 21, 2016, at NMMC, Tupelo. Born on January 16, 1938, in Becker, MS, he was a son of the late Delmar Cody “Bill” and Euple Maxine Sanders Phillips.
Dennis was a 1955 graduate of Becker High School. On July 2, 1955, he married the love-of-his-life, Nellie Thompson. Together, they were blessed with two wonderful children, Ronny and Sharon. He honorably served his Country in the US Air Force. Working in the furniture industry all of his life, Dennis had worked for Pullman Couch; Tecumseh; as plant manager at Styleline and Dumas Brothers; and also was self-employed before retiring in 2002. Always a hard-worker, Dennis found a new passion to keep him busy - gardening. He enjoyed working on his tractor and growing big truck-patch gardens, full of tomatoes and watermelons, and sharing his harvest with family and friends. Taking pleasure when being outdoors, Dennis also enjoyed picking pecans.
Dearly loving all of his family, he cherished every moment with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A very generous man, he was passionate about all children and helping others. One who never met a stranger, Dennis enjoyed his fellowship with people and spending time with his friends.
