William Ronald Mooneyham, a loving husband, and cherished father and grandfather, passed away on January 21, 2025, in Memphis, TN. He was born on March 24, 1951, in Houston, MS, to Doxie and Louise Mooneyham, who have preceded him in death.
Ron is remembered fondly by his family and friends for his vibrant personality, full of life and humor. His love for conversation brought joy to those who knew him, and he formed lasting friendships throughout his life. A proud Army veteran, he carried his commitment to service into his career as a banker where he made meaningful contributions to his community.
In addition to his professional achievements, Ron derived immense pride from being actively involved in his sons' and grandchildren's sporting activities. He cherished the moments spent eating Friday morning breakfast and golfing with his friends, as well as the excitement of watching his Amory Panthers and beloved Mississippi State Bulldogs play.
Ron leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter, celebrated by his wife, Gladys Mooneyham; their sons, David Mooneyham, Greg Mooneyham (Amber), and Patrick Mooneyham (Heather); a sister, Nina Terry; a brother, Bobby Mooneyham (Jennifer); sister in law, Kim Mooneyham; and six grandchildren, Brody, Peyton, Rynn, Quinn, Canaan, and Rowan Mooneyham.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Doxie and Louise Mooneyham; brother, Mike Mooneyham, and brother-in-law, Jim Terry.
His family and friends will gather to honor Ron’s life during visitation on January 25, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 3:00 PM with Bro. Zach Carter and Bro. Dennis Smithey officiating, at the E. E. Pickle Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Haughton Memorial Park in Amory, MS. Pallbearers will be Bill Paul, Mike Corbell, Billy Dykes, Brian Reed, Jason Terry, and Brody Mooneyham.
Ron Mooneyham's spirit and laughter will be profoundly missed, but his memory will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
