Amory – William Francis Miller, 75, died on Friday, August 13, 2010, at North MS Medical Center. Born on April 4, 1935, in Mantachie, he was a son of the late William MacHand Columbus & Ethel Jane Rock Miller. Mr. Bill began working as an apprentice cabinet maker in his teens. Enjoying building, remodeling, and repairing, he was a 53-year master craftsman and retired last year. While in Illinois, Mr. Bill was a construction superintendant for the Sears Tower in Chicago. Following Katrina, he worked on rebuilding projects for four months. Mr. Bill’s hobby was woodworking and he enjoyed Gospel music. He had lived in Amory since 1979. He is survived by a daughter, Donna Morris, Amory; sisters, Sue Davis, Oxford, Shirley Jones, West Memphis, AR, Peggy Duty, Old Town, FL, and Minnie Dale Cooley, Osceola, AR; grandchildren, Scott (Melonie) Morris, Nettleton, and Cody Dapp, Amory; great-granddaughter, Elizabeth “Libby” Morris, Nettleton; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Cate Miller, son, Gary Wayne Miller, 4 sisters and a brother. A Graveside service for William F. Miller will be held at 10 AM, Monday in Haughton Memorial Park with Pastor Danny Crane officiating. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Everyone is asked to meet at 9:40 AM at the funeral home to go in procession to the cemetery. Memorials may be given to First Assembly of God Church, 521 Tschudi Rd., Amory, MS 38821.
