William Browning

Gattman – William E. Browning, 81, died at his residence on Wednesday, April 20, 2011. Born on June 29, 1929, in Monroe County, he was a son of the late Basil G. & Chastine Howell Browning.
Mr. Browning was a graduate of Hatley High School. For twenty-three years, he worked for the Frisco Railroad and then became the head electrician with Conoco Plastics for twenty-two years. After retiring, he worked as a security guard with his wife at Peoploungers and drove a school bus for the Amory School District. A unique person who lived life to the fullest, Mr. Browning enjoyed telling jokes, laughing and talking, and traveling. On Sunday’s he enjoyed watching church services on television. His grandchildren were his pride and joy. Mr. Browning was a Mason.
He is survived by a daughter-in-law, Jennifer Gann, Tupelo; brothers, David A. Browning, Amory and Basil Leon Browning, Clinton; brothers-in-law, E. J. Wideman, Amory and Dudley Wideman, Kenosha, WI; grandchildren, Kayla and Paxton Browning and Alisha Laney; nieces and nephews, Don (Jeanine) Browning, Gattman, and Barry and Randy Browning, Clinton, Jeff Wideman, Vanessa Ray, and Von Funderburk. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel F. Browning; son, James Browning; and an infant daughter.
A Graveside Service will be held at 2 PM, Thursday, April 21, 2011, in Lee Memorial Park with Bro. Don Taggert officiating. Pallbearers will be Jeff and Jason Browning, J. B. Heard, Lee Rogers and Justin Kirk.
Visitation will be from Noon until 1 PM at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home, Amory.
