Evergreen Community – Howard Wayne Williams, 51, passed away on Thursday, June 4, 2015, at NMMC, Tupelo. Born on October 18, 1963, in Fort Pierce, Florida, he was the son of Houston Howard Williams and Grace Marie Clark Hand.

Growing up, he attended High School in Amory. Wayne was a Baptist and he loved spending time with his grandkids. He worked for 18 years for Mississippi Sand and Gravel company and he worked 16 years for Monroe County. Some of his friends at work were Tony Easter, Timmy Pickle, and Terry Hathcock. An active man, he liked to go dancing, hunting, fishing, riding four wheelers, and running dogs. His close friends Buddy Suggs, Wayne McPeak, Jamie Harlow, and Matt McDaniel often spent time doing these activities with Wayne. He liked to watch Nascar racing and wrestling. He loved to be outdoors and his favorite music was Country Music, especially any music sung by George Strait .

Survivors include his parents, Howard Williams, Fort Pierce, FL and Grace Marie Clark Hand (John), Amory; daughters, Nicki Jones, Pontotoc, Ashley Phillips (Wade), Amory, and Leigh Ann Williams, Nettleton; sisters, Marilyn Quigley and Stephanie Williams, both of Ft. Pierce, FL; step-sister, Renee Simon, Tampa, FL; step-brother, Johnny Hand, Amory; grandchildren, Dillan Jones, McKenzie Hunter, Albree Jones, and Skylar Phillips; nephews, Bryan Quigley and Dalton Tucker; nieces, Danielle and Delanea Tucker; special friends, Buddy Suggs, Matt McDaniel, Linda Bradshaw, Wayne McPeak, and Jamie Harlow.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Houston and Estelle Williams, and Luther and Pearl Clark; and uncle, James Williams.

A Funeral Service will be held at 2 PM, Sunday, June 7, at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home, Amory, with Bro. Justin Haynes officiating. Burial will be in New Chapel Cemetery, Itawamba County. Pallbearers will be Buddy Suggs, Jamie Harlow, Johnny Hand, Matt McDaniel, Timmy Pickle, and Daniel Holley. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jonathan Hand, Chris Hand, Jay Hand, and Bobby Camp.

Visitation will be from 5:00 – 8:00 PM, Saturday, June 6, 2015 at E.E. Pickle Funeral Home, Amory.

Memorials may be given to St. Jude, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
