Amory — Thomas Wayne Adams, 71, died on Tuesday, December 03, 2013, at the Golden Living Nursing Center in Amory. Born November 10, 1942, he was a son of Thomas Clayton and Georgia Marie Taylor.
He attended Amory Schools and he married Peggy Wall. A man of faith, he was a member of Gregory Chapel Baptist Church and served as song leader for many years. Before his retirement, he worked construction in the oil field industry. A family man, he enjoyed spending time with his family. Known as an accomplished artist, he enjoyed painting and drawing and his hobbies also include fishing, hunting, and trapping.
A Celebration of Life Service will be 2 p.m. on Thursday, December 5, 2013 at the E.E. Pickle Funeral Home Chapel in Amory with Bro. Arlis Lee officiating. Burial will be in the Greenbrier Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Peggy Adams of Amory; one daughter, Patricia Kirkpatrick of Amory; one son, Brandon Clayton Adams (Laura) of Amory; one sister, Carolyn Marie Adams of Amory; and three grandchildren, Wes Kirkpatrick, Davis Clayton Adams, and Avery Claire Adams.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Pallbearers will be Joe Hilliard, Jimmy Downs, Timmy Wall, Phillip Waycaster, Thomas Pierce, and Richard Wall.
Visitation will be 5 until 8 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home and will continue until service time on Thursday.
