Vivian Dyson
Amory, Miss.—Vivian H. Dyson, 95, died on January 29, 2104 at the Oak Tree Manor in Amory. Born November 17, 1918 in Water Valley, she was a daughter of James W. and Millie E. Higginbotham Hayles. She attended Water Valley High School and she moved to Amory in 1940 where she married Jute Dyson. She was a longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church in Amory and she owned a daycare for over 30 years. She loved her family, had a passion for her Christian faith, and had kindhearted compassion for others. Vivian enjoyed her family gatherings, cooking, baking, and spending time in her flower garden. She raised five kind and loving children and genuinely cared for the children in her daycare. She always had a smile on her face and a positive outlook on life.
A Celebration of Life Service will be 2 p.m. on Sunday, February 2, 2014 at the E.E. Pickle Funeral Home Chapel in Amory with Rev. Tom Cheatham officiating. Burial will be in the Masonic Cemetery.
Survivors include two sons, Clyde Dyson (Janis) of Houston, MS and Scott Dyson (Kathy) of Texas City, TX; two daughters, Sue D. Sanders (Steve) of Suwanee, GA and Beth D. Cresap (Troy) of Amory; one sister, Dorothy Simpson on (Harry) of Memphis, TN; sister in law, Madge Baker Howell, Amory; a brother-in-law, Wallace Crumby of Tupelo; 11 grandchildren, Jay Dyson (Dawn), Jennifer LaCapra (Tim), Andy Dyson (Millie), Mike Sanders (Susie), Amy Zinn (Eric), Daniel Sanders (Candice), Matt Dyson, Casey Dyson (Kelly), Suzanne Chancelor (Jarod), John Cresap, and Daniel Cresap (Melissa); and 22 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, J.C. “Jute” Dyson; one son, Mark Thomas Dyson; 3 sisters, Inez Crumby, Stella Mae Bell, and Louise Berry; two brothers, Raymond S. Hayles and Earnest Hayles.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will be 5 until 8 p.m. on Saturday and will continue until service time on Sunday at the funeral home.
