GREENWOOD SPRINGS- Viola Jean Miller Renfro, 83, died at her residence on Friday, July 15, 2016. She was a daughter of the late Robert Lee Miller and Beatrice Jones Miller.
Jean attended Quincy school and was a charter member of Trinity Baptist Church. She was a seamstress at Amory Garment for many years. Jean loved to listen to gospel music and to fish. She was happy to catch any type of fish. A few of her closest friends were Jimmy and Fran Miller and Roger and Donna Colburn. She was a very proud mother and grandmother and great-grandmother. Her great-grandson was so very special to her.
Survivors include a daughter, Jody Jones of Pontotoc; a son, Thomas Eugene Renfro (Karen) of Greenwood Springs; a grandchild, Amanda Jean Hill (Ethan), Bigbee; great-grandchildren, Shawn and Kayden; and a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Emmett Renfro Jr. whom she married on September 12, 1949; her sisters, Vivian Roberts and Mildred Smith; a brother Robert Gordon Miller; and a son-in-law, Phil Jones.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Sunday July 17, 2016, at Sartor Cemetery. Bro. Jackie McNeese will be officiating. Pallbearers will be Roger Colburn, Randy Colburn, Tyler Colburn, Taylor Colburn, Ethan Hill, and Hunter Colburn. One honorary pallbearer will be Shawn Renfro.
