Amory – Dan Edwards, 68, passed away on Sunday, April 2, 2017, at his residence in Amory. Born on February 26, 1949, in Tupelo, he was a son of late Henry Travis and Ruby Manasco Edwards.
Dan attended Amory High School. A provider for his family, he worked in heavy civil construction. He enjoyed being outdoors, fishing, and spending time with his grandchildren. A jokester, he loved pestering his grandchildren. Dan especially enjoyed the thrill of hunting. A cowboy at heart, Dan really liked watching Westerns, with Clint Eastwood and John Wayne being some of his favorite TV actors. He was an avid Mississippi State fan.
Survivors include his daughter, April Edwards West (Greg), Starkville; sons, Chad Edwards (Andrea), Brandon, MS, Ricky Edwards, Aberdeen; grandchildren, Hank, Millie Kate and Emmerson Edwards; Bryson, Braelynn and Thomas West; sisters, Faye Vann, Amory, Mary Ruth Cowart (Joe), Hatley, Debra Jones, Wren, Nancy Laney (Mickey), Nettleton, Joy Strawbridge (Jimmy), Ruston, LA; brother, Larry Edwards (Kittie), Hatley; a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ann Trimm.
His Funeral Service will be at 2 PM, Wednesday, April 5, at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home, Amory, with Bro. Mike Todd officiating. Burial will follow in Liberty Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Neal Laney, David Vann, Cole Goode, Mason Laney, Jamie Edwards, Chris Strawbridge, and Blake Cowart.
Visitation will be from 12 – 1:50 PM, Wednesday, at the funeral home.
