Traci Carol Sturdivant Plaxico, 47, passed away on December 30, 2017 at her residence. Born on June 17, 1970 in Amory, she was a daughter of Earl and Anne Sturdivant. Traci attended Amory High School and graduated with the class of 1988. After she graduated, she attended Itawamba Community College. She was a member of Riverbend Baptist Church. Traci was a certified pharmacy technician and was an employee of North Mississippi Medical Center Employee Pharmacy.
Traci was blessed with two sons. She loved watching them grown up into successful young men. She loved to grow vegetables, watching hummingbirds, being outside and cooking for friends and family.
Traci’s faith in the Lord Jesus Christ was unfailing. Throughout her journey with cancer, she kept her trust in Jesus. She was an encourager to others, her friends, her family and to the many cancer patients. She was always serving others with compassion, joy and love. Traci never met a stranger and always greeted everyone with her contagious smile. She leaves a wonderful legacy to her sons.
Traci Plaxico is survived by her sons: Lee Plaxico (Morgan), Atlanta, GA and Hayden Plaxico of the home; her parents, Earl and Anne Sturdivant, Aberdeen; sisters: Terri Butler (Dennis), Aberdeen, Nicki Wickline (Joe), Stillwater, OK, and Cindy Comer, Aberdeen; nieces and nephews: Amanda Swan (Philip); Jody Comer (Sierra), Jesse Butler (Nicole), Josh Comer, Kelby and Lauren Wickline and a host of Great Nieces and Nephews.
Traci was preceded in death by her grandparents, Purnell and Runt Sturdivant, Bill and Nixola Duncan.
A celebration of life service for Traci Plaxico will be at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at E.E. Pickle Funeral Home, Amory. Lee Plaxico, Bro. Dennis Butler and Dr. Roy McHenry will be officiating. Burial will follow in New Hope Cemetery in Aberdeen, MS. Pallbearers will be Philip Swan, Jesse Butler, Jody and Josh Comer, Kelby Wickline and Zane Sawyer. Honorary pallbearers will be the NMMC Employee Pharmacy Staff.
In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to the NMMC Oncology Patient Care Assistance Program, 961 South Gloster Street, Tupelo, MS 38801.
Visitation for Traci Plaxico will be on Tuesday evening, January 2, 2018 from 5:00 – 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
