Leighton, AL – Tony Lyn Gray, 41, died suddenly on Thursday, June 5, 2014, at his residence. Born on September 8, 1972, in Amory, he was a son of the late Charlie Lyn and Juanita Vick Gray.
Tony attended Becker School and Hatley High School. Very talented as a roofer and carpenter, he owned A-1 Roofing. Tony was of the Pentecostal faith. Caring, unselfish, and having a big heart, he volunteered throughout the South to help rebuild after devastating tornadoes and hurricanes. Tony loved his family and cheering for his children as they played sports. He enjoyed fishing, softball, grilling, cooking breakfast, and Classic Rock.
He is survived by his wife, Dawn M. Gray, Leighton; daughters, Erica and Serenity Gray, Leighton; sons, Anthony and Nathan Gray, Leighton; Tony Lynn “TJ” Shields, Becker; Blake and Bryson Gray, Leighton; sister, Anita Gail Zimmerman (Robert), Becker; brother, Glenn Gray (Gail), Nettleton; aunts, Lue Lue Causey and Zada Causey, Nettleton; Iclee West and Edna Mann, Becker; and uncle, Ozville Gray (Martha), Pascagoula;
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Eli and Alvie Vick; and Elmon and Lula Gray.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM, Monday, June 9 at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home with Bro. Jason Dobbs officiating. Burial will follow in Providence Cemetery, Nettleton. Pallbearers will be his sons, Anthony, Nathan, T. J., and Blake; Danny leech, Eugene Seahorn, Zack Wilson, Robert Zimmerman, and Jacob Causey. Honorary pallbearer will be Bryson Gray.
Visitation will be from 9 – 10:45 AM, Monday at the funeral home.
