Amory, Miss.—Tommie Jean “Tinker” Edwards Ritter, 76, died on Saturday, February 8, 2014 at the Gilmore Memorial Regional Medical Center in Amory. Born June 10, 1937 in Amory, she was a son of Lonnie and Buena Lyle Edwards.
She was a graduate of Amory High School and she married Russell Ritter. Deeply devoted to her family, she enjoyed taking care of her family and friends especially during times of sickness. She was a member of the Bigbee Baptist Church and also attended Cason Baptist Church. She enjoyed yard work and for over 40 years she was the owner of Ritter’s Upholstery in Amory.
A Celebration of Life service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at the E.E. Pickle Funeral Home Chapel in Amory with Bro. Ricky Jones officiating. Burial will be in the Haughton Memorial Park.
Survivors include two sons, Tim Ritter (Stephanie) of Smithville and Clint Ritter of Amory; one sister, Nancy Poole of Germantown, TN; two brothers, Lonnie “Sonny” Edwards (Joyce) of Bartlett, TN and Frank Edwards (Joan) of Millington, TN; 5 grandchildren, Desmond Ritter, Russell Joe Ritter, Jaden Ritter, Chase Ritter and Taylor Ritter; a cousin, Doris Kennedy; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son, Steve Ritter; and one sister, Linda Huddleston.
Pallbearers will be Chad Huddleston, Duane Huddleston, Bobby Poole, David Edwards, Don Edwards, Damon Edwards, Michael Edwards, and Johnny Ginn.
Visitation will be 5 until 8 p.m. on Tuesday and will continue until service time on Wednesday.
