TOM VANN

Amory – Webster Tom Vann, 86, passed away on Saturday, November 5, 2022, at Diversicare Nursing Center in Amory, Mississippi. He was born on February 25, 1936, in Hamilton, AL, to the late Webb Vann and Margie Cantrell Vann.

Tom attended school in Hamilton, Alabama and went on to trade school where he became certified as a Whirlpool Appliance Service Technician.
He moved to Illinois and began his work career. He worked at Supreme Appliance Co in Rock Island, Illinois as well as Chuck Hurford’s TV and Appliance Center. Lastly he was the owner and operator of Vann’s Appliance Company in Rock Island, IL.

In addition to being a hard worker, Tom was a humorous man who was talented at electrical and carpentry work. He enjoyed providing for his family, his four sons, and being a grandfather and great-grandfather. He believed in God and enjoyed listening to Country and Gospel music, especially Jimmy Swaggart. In his down time, he liked to go fishing and spending time with family.

Of all his accomplishments in life, Tom was most proud of raisin his four sons and being there for his family. They will all miss him so dearly and will cherish the memories made.

Tom was survived by four sons, Steve Vann (Barb), Amory, Kevin Vann (Georgia), Clifton, TX, Norman Vann (Sally), Cason Community, MS, and Ken Vann (Larissa), Waynesboro, VA; grandchildren, Aimee Morse, Belleville, MS, Nicole and David Vann, Nettleton, Thomas and Rebecka Vann, Waynesboro, VA, and Daniel Cantrell (Geretta), Vernon, AL; 9 great-grandchildren; sisters, Ira Ford, Tupelo, MS, Etta Saget (Doug), Aberdeen, MS, and Paulette Crosby (Glenn), Amory, MS; brother, David Vann; numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Jesse Vann and Junior Vann; sisters, Allie Hendrix, and Ovil Taylor.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, November 11, 2022, at 2:00 pm at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home in Amory, MS, with Bro. Jerry Oakes officiating. Burial will follow in Cooper Cemetery, Detroit Alabama.

Visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, November 11, 2022, from 12:00pm until the service hour.
