Timothy David Bilger

Caledonia – Timothy David Bilger, 56, died Monday, December 28, 2015 in Columbus. Born on October 7, 1959 in Valdosta, GA, he was the son of Emma Gretchen Moore Bilger and the late Kenneth D. Bilger.

Mr. Bilger attended Valdosta High School where he was a member of the Valdosta Marching Band before moving to Columbus and graduating from Lee High School in 1977. He was a master mechanic and had received many certifications in the mechanical field. He worked at Waters Truck and Tractor Sales Parts, was the owner of Tim’s Amoco Service Station and was also a welder at Columbus Rubber & Gasket until he became disabled. He was a member of First Christian Church in Columbus. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Mr. Bilger enjoyed rock music, especially The Eagles. His hobbies included water skiing, boating, motor sports. He greatly enjoyed the time he was a high school football referee.

His Funeral Service will be at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, December 30, 2015, at First Christian Church, Columbus with Rev. Ed Maurer and Bro. Don Harding officiating. His Committal Service will be at 3:30 PM, Wednesday, in Haughton Memorial Park, Amory. Pallbearers will be Randle Flippo, Rex Stokes, Brett Johnson, Jr., Marcus Johnson, Rick Bilger, Terry Scott, and Parr Colvin. Honorary pallbearers will be Ron Stokes, Charles Scott Johnson, Paul Scott, Jason Walace, Bob Taylor, Robert Humphrey and Little Kevin Reese.

He will lie-in-state at the church on Wednesday from 11 AM until the service hour.

Survivors include his wife, Debra Reese Bilger, Caledonia; mother, Gretchen Bilger, Columbus; daughters, Erin Holloway (Michael), Saltillo, Emily Chisolm (Matt) and Gracie Bilger all of Caledonia; brother, Steve Bilger (Sandra); sisters-in-law, Cynthia Scott, Amy Johnson (Charles Scott); mother and father-in-law, Charlene & Jimmy Reese; grandchildren, Emma Claire Holloway and William ‘Rush’ Chisolm; nieces and nephews, Dale Bilger, Brad Scott, Katie Humphrey; cousins, Kevin (Kim) Reese , Little Kevin Reese; special friends, Randle Flippo, and Rex Stokes.

He is preceded in death by his father.
