Pearce Chapel Community — Thoma Inez Riggan Duvall, 95, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, August 6, 2019 at NMMC in Tupelo. She was born on March 31, 1924 to JB and Erin Knight Riggan.
Thoma graduated from Smithville High School. For many years, she worked as a CNA in the nursery of the Gilmore Memorial Hospital. She was of the Baptist faith.
Thoma was devoted to her family and enjoyed spending time with them, especially her dear grandchildren. She loved flowers and working in her garden. In her free time, she enjoyed playing dominoes, and listening to music: mostly gospel music, but her favorite song was “El Paso” by Marty Robbins. All of her friends had gone on to heaven, and now she will join them in her new home. Thoma will be dearly missed by her family.
Thoma is survived by her daughters, Debbie Jones, Hamilton, AL, Angel Walls, Nettleton; son, Steven Duvall, Smithville; grandchildren, Jennifer Robinson, Derick Jones, Nikki Wright; great-grandchildren, Hunter Robinson, Hannah Robinson, Hailey Robinson, Khylur Gray, Jaxon Wright, Bexley Wright; and a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Reginald Duvall; sisters, Dorthy Riggan, Reba Riggan, Merle Landon; and brother, JB Riggan Jr.
A memorial service will held at a 2 PM, Sunday, August 18, 2019 at East Amory Baptist Church, Amory, MS with Bro. Roger Akers officiating.
