For many years, Mr. Easter was a member of the Rocky Springs Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and lay pastor. He also sang in The Disciples, a gospel quartet. In his later years, he moved to South Carolina to be nearer his grandchildren, who were a great joy in his life. He spent his last years at Deepwood Estates in Lexington. His favorite verse from the Bible was John 3:16.
