Amory – Frankie Tarlene Thompson, 95, passed away on Sunday, August 27, 2017, at Oak Tree Manor. Born on November 18, 1921, in Vardaman, Mississippi, she was a daughter of the late Albert Franklin and Mintia Ethel Burgess Walls.
Tarlene graduated from Vardaman High School. In November of 1944, she married the love of her life, James Burdine Thompson. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Amory. Tarlene enjoyed spending time with her friends and playing Mexican Train dominoes. She also loved to take trips with the Triple L Ladies Group. She touched the lives of many people and will truly be missed by her loved ones. Tarlene is survived by daughter, Dianne Inmon (Jack), Amory; granddaughters, Amy Patterson (Josh), Hernando, Anna Inmon, New Orleans, LA; great-grandchildren, Sophie, Andrew, and Susannah Patterson; Sister-in-law, Zelda Walls, Houlka; and a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Burdine Thompson; son, James Albert Thompson; granddaughter, Julie Kaye Inmon; sister, Ruth Higginbothom; and brothers, Arlis and L.H. “Gus” Walls.
Her Funeral Service will be held at 3:00PM, Thursday, August 31, 2017, at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home, Amory, with Bro. Jack Inmon officiating. There will be no graveside service. Burial will be in Midway Baptist Cemetery in Vardaman, MS.
Visitation will be on Thursday, August 31, 2017, from 1-2:50PM, at the Funeral Home in Amory.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Baptist Church, 303 1st Avenue, Amory, or to Meadowood Baptist Church OCC, 1512 Hatley Rd, Amory.
