Amory – Syble Morrison Wilson, 92, passed away on Wednesday, June 15, 2016, at Oak Tree Manor, Amory. Born on December 8, 1923, in Itawamba County, she was a daughter of the late Bill and Chattie Bell Justice Morrison.
She attended school in Fulton and married L. O. Wilson in 1939. During World War II, Mrs. Wilson worked in a factory in Columbus. Retiring in 1995, as a seamstress from Amory Garment, she worked side-by-side with her best friend, Mary Lou Ford, for 27 years. Mrs. Wilson was a member of Hatley Missionary Baptist Church. She dearly loved her family, especially her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and her brother who was special to her, Billy Morrison. A hard-worker who was always beautiful, she was a fantastic cook who made the best fried potatoes. One who loved music by Elvis and George Jones; singing, especially “Greenback Dollar,” as a little girl; and dancing The Charleston into her later years. Having a green-thumb, she enjoyed yard work and gardening.
Survivors include her daughter, Jeannie Moffett (Douglas), Amory; brother, Billy Ray Morrison (Karen), St. Simons Island, GA; grandsons, Tony Dill (Felicia) and Terry Dill (Gena); granddaughter, Patricia Adams (Tim); great-grandchildren, Lorie Crenshaw (Chris), Eric Dill, Leah Doyle (Adam), Jordan Leech; great-great-grandchildren, Anna Kate and Cooper Crenshaw; Reese and Ava Claire Doyle; and her caregivers at Oak Tree Manor and Legacy Hospice.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Melena Thompson and Nell Davis; and brother, Ivy Morrison.
Her Funeral Service will be at 2 PM, Saturday, June 18, 2016, at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home, Amory, with Bro. Sidney McLeod and Bro. Glen Boman officiating. Burial will be in Haughton Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Eric Dill, Jordan Leech, Chris Crenshaw, Adam Doyle, Joe Howell, Shane Morrison, and Sammy Sappington. Honorary pallbearers will be Ricky and Frank Tucker; Stephen and Butch Nash.
Visitation will be on Saturday, June 18, 2016, at the funeral home from 12:30 PM until the service hour.
