Amory – Susie Vick Mann, 80, died on Sunday, July 3, 2011, at Golden Living Center, Amory. Born on February 19, 1931, in the Parham Community of Monroe County, she was a daughter of the late Eli and Alvie West Vick.
Mrs. Mann attended Parham Community Schools. On September 25, 1947, she married Lee L. Mann. Mrs. Mann worked as a seamstress in the local garment industry, retiring in 1979. She was of the Church of God faith. A loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she cherished time spent with her family and spoiling her grandchildren. Mrs. Mann enjoyed listening to Gospel music, crocheting, and fishing.
She is survived by son, Andy Mann (Ann) of Becker; sisters, Edna Jewel Mann, Aberdeen and Icelee West, Becker; brothers, Royce Vick, Orlando, FL, and Hubert Vick, Baldwyn; grandchildren, Christopher Mann, Becker, Cindy Whitt (Sam), Shannon, and Melissa Spann (Nathan), Smithville; great-grandchildren, Anna Shaw, Austin Shaw, Caytee Spann, Taylor Mann, Jared Mann, Abby Whitt, and Amanda Grace Whitt; and several nieces & nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by sisters, Gertrude Brown, Joann Graff, Margie Pace, and Juanita Gray; and brothers, Henry Clay Vick and Pete Vick.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 3 PM, Wednesday, July 6 at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home with Bro. Robert E. Fowlkes officiating. Burial will follow in Haughton Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Mark Pace, Dean Mann, Mike Mann, William Vick, Sam Whitt, and Larry Colburn.
