Stephen M. Pierce

Greenwood Springs, MS – Stephen M. Pierce, 57, passed away on Friday, January 24, 2025 at his residence in Greenwood Springs, MS and he began his new life in Heaven. He was born on Valentine’s Day, in 1967, in the Turon Community in Itawamba County, Mississippi.

Stephen graduated from Smithville High School and attended IJC in Fulton, MS. He worked for many years as a Machine Operator at Tecumseh Manufacturing in Verona, Mississippi. He never met a stranger and over the years made many friends. Stephen was a friendly man, supportive son, and great brother who believed in God and was Baptist.

As life brought challenges to his family, he did everything he could to be there for his family. Selfless and kind, he took care of his parents and he was especially close to his Mama. Some of his close friends, besides him family, were Glen Jones, Jackie Jones and Tasia Gray. He would frequently say “Ill tell you what” and he could make just about anyone smile. Over the years, he connected with so many classmates and friends through Facebook. Stephen really enjoyed chatting with everyone online. When he wasn’t working or hanging out with his friends, he liked to play games and spend time outdoors. Stephen especially liked going fishing and hunting.

Although he will be missed dearly by his friends and family, they know that he is healed and with Jesus. His love ones are thankful for all the great memories and times they got to share with him.

He leaves behind to cherish his memories his sisters, Myra Smith (Billy), Nettleton, MS, Janice Hughey (Mike), Smithville, MS, and Patsy Carter, Festus, MO; brother, David Jones (Donna), Smithville; an uncle, Roger Pierce; a host of nieces and nephews; and special friend, Latashia Gray, Hatley, MS.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Garvis Jones and Joyce Pierce Jones and his grandmother, Delcie Pierce.
