Amory- Stanley Doyle Hadaway, 76, died Monday, April 29, 2013 at Gilmore Memorial regional Medical Center. Born February 25, 1937 in Amory, he was a son of the late Earnest Edward and Irene Alred Hadaway. He married Mary Jo Isbell June 21, 1958.
Mr. Hadaway grew up in Amory and graduated from Hatley High School and attended Itawamba Community College. A devout Christian man, he was a member of First Freewill Baptist Church in Amory. He honorably served his county in the Army, owned and operated Amory Marble Works for several years, and was a self employed carpenter. A jack of all trades Mr. Hadaway loved his family, especially his grandchildren, enjoyed working in his shop and playing golf.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 55 years, Mary Jo Hadaway, Amory; daughters, Christy Hadaway Brown, Smithville and Carol Ann Hadaway Bilbrey (Joey), Florence, AZ; sons, Steve Hadaway (Tamra), Roswell, NM and Tommy Hadaway, Morris, ILL; brother, Wayne Hadaway, Amory; grandchildren, Ashley, Joseph, Savannah, and Caleb Bilbrey, McKayla, Allie, and Madison Brown, Spence, Alaina, and Dylan Hadaway; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a brother, Charles Hadaway.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 AM, Thursday, May 2, 2013 at First Freewill Baptist Church in Amory, with Bro. Randy Wright and Pastor Joey Bilbrey officiating. Burial will follow in Amory Historical Masonic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Tommy, Lynn, Eddie, Jerry, Teddy, and Phillip Hadaway, Kenny Isbell, and James Young. Honorary pallbearers will be the Adult Sunday School Class of First Freewill Baptist Church.
Visitation will be from 5 PM- 8 PM, Wednesday, May 1 at E.E. Pickle Funeral Home in Amory. Mr. Hadaway will lie in state at the church on Thursday from 10 AM until the service hour.
