Sidney Clifton Weaver
Smithville – Sidney Clifton Weaver, 82, passed away at his residence in Smithville and met his Savior face to face on Thursday, March 20, 2024. He was born on July 1, 1941, in Smithville, MS to the late Clifton Weaver and Pearl Pickle Weaver.
Sidney grew up in Monroe County, with two sisters and a brother and he graduated from Smithville High School. He worked many years with the Monroe County Electric Power Company, serving his neighbors selflessly, ensuring that everyone had power, even during emergencies. He was a lineman with the power company, so he was brave, had a steady hand, and was quick to think on his feet. He was a great provider for his family and for that they will be forever grateful.
He was such a generous man, always ready to give “the shirt off his back” to anyone. He genuinely cared for everyone and he loved the Lord. He would have told you that his greatest accomplishment in life was giving his life to Jesus. The good Lord guided his life and the Bible was his roadmap for all times he had to make decisions on which path to take. He was a devout Christian and a member of Freedom Baptist Church in Smithville, MS. Sidney enjoyed fellowship with his church family and his immediate family meant the world to him. On occasion, he liked to travel to Amish Country, with his friends, to step back in time and just slowdown from the fast pace of the world.
There is no doubt that Sidney is now enjoying the all encompasing love and radiance from his Savior. He will be missed until we meet again.
Sidney is survived by his son, Tony Weaver (Kellie), Greenwood Springs; daughter, Sandra Dewberry (Ken), Brandon; grandchildren, Lori Leech (John), Erin Krzyzkowski (Chris), Chase Weaver, Mollie Kate Andrews, and Will Andrews; three great-grandchildren; sister, Alice Nelson, Racine, WS; brother, Kenneth Weaver (Glenda), Smithville; a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Clifford Parham (john); a brother-in-law, Ray Nelson.
