Shuana L. Edwards

Shannon – Shuana L. Edwards, 55, passed away on Saturday, June 20, 2015, at NMMC, Tupelo. Born on July 16, 1959, in Amory, she was a daughter of Shelby Jean Lindsey Mitchell and the late Dewey Lee Knight.

Shuana graduated from Smithville High School in 1978. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Shannon. With family being her life, Shuana enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. One who had a great sense of humor, she was always happy and smiling. She loved to read, sing, write poetry, and listen to Soft Rock music.

Survivors include her parents, Ralph and Shelby Jean Mitchell, Smithville; daughters, Jessica Armstrong and Jennica Edwards of Pontotoc; and Janie Edwards, Columbia; sons, Charley Edwards, Louisiana, Jeremy Morgan, Columbia, Clay Morgan, Pontotoc, Mitch Armstrong, Amory, and Torie Edwards, Pontotoc; sister, Bonita Truelock (Melvin), Amory; brothers, James Knight (Tammy), Shannon and Lee Knight (Karen), Smithville; 13 grandchildren; and several nieces & nephews.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by an aunt, Peggy Bates.

A Funeral Service will be held at 2 PM, Wednesday, June 24, 2015, at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home, Smithville Chapel, with Bro. James Knight officiating. Burial will be in Pearce Chapel Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Roy Lee and Steve Lindsey; Jason and Joseph Knight; Clay Morgan, Justin Knight, and Jamie Bennett. Honorary pallbearers will be Heath Betts and Scott Bennett.

Visitation will be from 12 – 1:50 PM, Wednesday at the Smithville Chapel.
