Shirley Ann (Evans) Hill

Amory – Shirley Ann (Evans) Hill, 87, passed from this life on March 15, 2024, at her home in Wren, Mississippi, after suffering a stroke last August.

She was survived by her daughter, Sha Burnett, of Wren; her grandson, Evan Burnett (Manda), of W. Monroe, Louisiana; her granddaughter, Alisha Hoots (Van), of Amory, MS; her great-grandson, Cameron Pierce (Serenity) of Wren; her great-grandson, Rhys Burnett, of West Monroe, Louisiana; her great-granddaughter, Chloe Burnett, of West Monroe; her great-granddaughter, Mary-Morgan Pierce, of Wren, MS; her great-great-grandson, Silas Pierce, of Wren, MS; her sister, Elizabeth Graham, of Nettleton; her brother-in-law, Donald Fly, of Nettleton; sister-in-law, Sis Evans, Nettleton; and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby N. Hill; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J.C. Evans; her sister, Nancy Fly; and her brothers, Wayne, Roger and Jimmy Evans.

A lifelong resident of Northeast Mississippi, Mrs. Hill worked for thirty years alongside her husband and brother-in-law, Coy A. Hill in their department store, Black’s of Amory. Later, she worked at Wright’s Jewelers of Amory and Tupelo, John’s Pharmacy and Flowers of Tupelo; and she ran her own flower shop< Main Street Florists in Tupelo, MS.

Mrs. Hill enjoyed gardening as well as arranging flowers. She also enjoyed oil painting, shopping, dressing stylishly, wearing beautiful pieces of jewelry, and especially playing with her grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Her family will gather for a graveside service officiated by Brother Stanley Blaylock at 3pm on Tuesday, March 19, 2024, in the Mausoleum at Lee Memorial Park, in Verona, Mississippi were she will be entombed. Pallbeaers will be Cameron Pierce, Rhys Burnett, Matt Graham, Jeb Bristow, Mitch Fly and Michael Fly. Honorary pallbearer will be Marc Evans.
Visitation will be from 1:00pm until 2:00 pm at E.E. Pickle Funeral Home in Amory, MS on Tuesday, March 19, 2024.
