Knoxville - Sheryl Moore Sanders, 62, died on Friday, September 30, 2011, at her residence. Born on April 8, 1949, in Amory, she was a daughter of the late Tasca Alton and Clara Nell Betts Moore.
Sheryl was a graduate of Amory High School, Class of 1967, and a graduate of Georgia State University with a degree in Accounting. Working in the Banking industry all her life, Sheryl was a Senior Director at Elavon, Inc. of Knoxville, a subsidiary of US Bank. She had lived in Memphis and Louisville, KY, before moving to Knoxville. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Knoxville. An avid seamstress, Sheryl designed her own clothing, knitted sweaters, and did needlework. One of the sweetest people one could know, she enjoyed flower gardening and loved pets.
She is survived by her husband, Jimmy H. Sanders, Knoxville; daughter, Jennifer D. White, Montgomery Village, MD; mother-in-law, Gertrude Sanders, Amory; sister, Clara Beth Moore, Huntsville, TX; and grandson, Ryder Allen Harbison, Maryland.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandparents, Robert and Clara Crump Betts, formerly of Amory, and John Tasca and Maggie Elizabeth Bookout Moore, formerly of Cobb/Fulton County, GA; and father-in-law, R. B. Sanders.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 AM, Wednesday, October 5, 2011, at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home with Dr. Allen Simpson officiating. Burial will follow in Masonic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jim McKee, Robert Sanders, Bobby Hall, Johnny Leech, Dickie Miller, and Robert Williams.
Visitation will be from 5 - 7 PM, Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be given to UT Home Hospice, 2200 Southerland Ave., Ste. 102, Knoxville, TN 37919.
