Shelby Dykes

Amory— Shelby Dykes, 70, entered eternal rest on Thursday, December 12, 2019. Born on January 12, 1949, she was a daughter of the late Ralford Quitman and Clarice Michael Davis.

Shelby was an outgoing and loving woman who could light up a room with her smile. She loved to help people and was a foster parent for many years. Shelby worked as a dietary specialist at Gilmore Memorial Hospital for 21 years. She was of the Baptist faith.

Shelby loved her family, and treasured the time spent with her grandchildren most of all. In her free time, she enjoyed playing games on her computer and watching westerns. Shelby was full of life and will be dearly missed by her loved ones. The memories her family holds dear will live on for the years to come.

Shelby is survived by her husband of 53 years, Jimmy Dykes, Amory; daughters, Lisa White (Tom), Baldwyn, Juanita Manasco, Amory; son, James Taylor Dykes III (Lita), Hawaii; grandchildren, Jessica Goode, John Taylor Corbell, Memory Reeves, Jacob Reeves; great-grandchildren, Cody Corbell, Faith Corbell, Ethan Allen Putt, Isabella Grace Corbell, Remington Chance Quitman “Peanut” Reeves, Mackenzie Lynn Powell, Ember, Novalee, Charleigh, Jazmine, Jesse, Whitlee; sister, Diane Englehardt (William); brother, Robert Harold Davis, Ralford Q. Davis Jr.; brother-in-law, Robert Wayne Dykes (Annette); mother, Juanita Rosebud Davis; a host of nieces and nephews; many beloved friends; and her nurse, Ms. Rachel.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Valerie Quinell Davis Dykes.

Funeral services for Shelby Dykes will be held at 11AM on Saturday, December 21, 2019 at E.E. Pickle Funeral Home in Amory, with Bro. Butch Moore officiating. Burial will follow in Nettleton Cemetery in Nettleton. Pallbearers will include Collin Walters, Nathan McLeivin, Chuck Michael, Tony Adams, Ken Randolph, Terry Dykes and John Taylor Corbell.

Visitation for Shelby will be held from 5-8PM Friday night at the funeral home.
