Sharon Owens Palmer, 76, passed away Tuesday May 7, 2024. She was born October 27, 1947 in Hogansville, GA to Grady Owens and Letha Owens Stroud. She went to Marietta High School where she graduated then moved to Amory, MS. Sharon worked at Georgia Gulf for 36 years and retired as a purchasing buyer. She loved the Lord and was Methodist in faith.
She was a loving daughter, sister, mother, and grandmother. She would say her greatest accomplishment in life was her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. In her free time, she enjoyed being with her family, listening to 70’s and 80’s country music, watching Atlanta Brave’s baseball, doing diamond art, and watching TikTok videos. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and fur babies/constant companions, Polly and Stella. She loved going to the casino with her friends, Ruth, Freddie, and Lynn. Her favorite saying was, “Oh my gosh!”
Sharon was a strong willed, funny, hardworking, and loving woman and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. They know that she is in the presence of the Lord and that gives them comfort.
She is survived by two daughters, Kellie Palmer Wouldridge (Gary), Amory, MS, and Molly Palmer McCarty (Brian), Tupelo, MS; one sister, Penny Burruss (Robin), Marietta, GA; step-father, Richard Stroud; eight grandchildren, Lauren Voyles (Chris), Shayne Hall (Vince), Layne Carroll (David), Easton Palmer, Cara Dale Palmer, Karsyn Easter, Alicia Wouldridge, and Garret Wouldridge (Kayla); six great grandchildren, Cameryn Fulterton, Blakely Hall, Sawyer Hall, Channing Voyles, Carlee Stewart and Gage Stewart; special friends, Judy Holman, Kimberly Walters, Freddie and Lynn Rhudy, Emily Ayers, Zetta Lowery and the father of her children, Steve.
