Smithville – Allen Scott, Morris, 41, died on Wednesday, April 27, 2011, as a result of the Smithville tornado. Born on May 26, 1969, in Winfield, Alabama, he was a son of Doris Gene Morris and the late Ralph Morris.
Scott attended Winfield High School. Living in Smithville for 18 years, he did framing and flooring work for a mobile home manufacturer and worked as an Upholsterer for Town House Home Furnishings. A hard-worker, he displayed great talent in construction work. He was Baptist. Loving, outgoing and determined, Scott would do anything for anyone. His daughter, Amber, was the love of his life. Scott always looked forward to family get-togethers, especially their barbeques and 4th of July fireworks. An avid NASCAR fan, Dale Jarrett and Kasey Kahne were his drivers and he enjoyed meeting and watching them when he went to the Talladega Races. Scott was very passionate about Alabama football and enjoyed listening to a wide variety of music.
He is survived by his mother, Doris Gene Morris, Smithville; grandfather, Ozel Perry, Jasper, AL; sisters, Elizabeth Morris (Mark) Estes, Eldridge and Melissa (Joey Linley) Morris, Winfield; brother, Wayne Morris, Smithville and Michael Morris, Fayette, AL; beloved nieces and nephews, Dakota Estes, Sidnie Estes and Tyler Linley; and special friends, Landy and Melissa Tucker. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Amber Morris, and grandmother, Rachel Perry.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 AM, Tuesday, May 3 at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home with Rev. C. W. Box officiating. Burial will be held at 3 PM, Tuesday, in Ephesus Baptist Church Cemetery, Haleyville, AL. Pallbearers will be Mark Estes, Joey Linley, Landy Tucker, Mike Odom, Dakota Estes, Wayne Morris and Michael Morris.
Visitation will be from 9:30 AM, Tuesday until the service hour on Tuesday.
