Fulton – Sandra Kay Spees Boozer, 65, died on Wednesday, August 1, 2012, at North MS Medical Center. Born on December 7, 1946, in Monroe County, she was a daughter of the late Mae Eloise Hudson and Dewey Milton Spees, Sr.
Kay was a graduate of Amory High School. On August 10, 1973, she married James Allen Boozer. Full-of-life and finding joy in the small things of life, Kay was a homemaker. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church, Amory. Kay valued the time she spent with her husband, son, and grandchildren. Dedicated to showing appreciate for veterans, she had a passion for thanking the Vietnam veterans for their service and reminding them of their value and contributions to our Country. Kay enjoyed her plants, watching wildlife, taking care of her three Shih Tzu dogs, and Bon Jovi music.
She is survived by her husband of 39 years, James Allen Boozer, Fulton; son, Christopher Boozer (Dana), Tupelo; brother, Dewey Milton Spees, Jr., Amory; grandchildren, Lauren and Meagan Boozer; and nieces and nephews, Deborah Spees Walker, Robert Spees, and Tammy Spees Tubb, Jeffery Silas, Danny Sheffield, Terry Lynn Cummings, Donna Carol Dyer, Frank Boozer, Alicia Reese, Mark Tubbs, Natalie Marshall, Jeff Boozer, Karen Monaghan, Bradley Pierce, and Michael Pierce.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters-in-law, Mary Silas and Dot Cummings; and a niece, Susan Loden.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 AM, Friday, August 3 at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home with Bro. Mike Todd officiating. Burial will follow in Haughton Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Robert Spees, John Warnicke, F. B. Boozer, and Frank Boozer. Honorary pallbearer will be Donnie Carter.
Visitation will be from 5 – 8 PM, Thursday at the funeral home.
