Tupelo – Ruth L. McCoy Fowler Lovan, 84, died on Friday, July 11, 2014, at Golden Living Center, Tupelo. Born on April 23, 1930, in Booneville, she was a daughter of the late Chester Arthur and Florence Loraine Clark McCoy.
A woman of faith, Mrs. Lovan was a member of First Free Will Baptist Church, Amory where she was active in group outings, Adult Senior Sunday school and Bible study. Before moving to Amory, she owned and operated Down Home Café, Houston, TX. Unselfish, caring, and giving, her life was always focused on her family. She enjoyed Gospel music, cooking, canning, gardening, flowers, and landscaping.
Survivors include her daughter, Darlene Loraine Becker (John D.), Houston, TX; son, Richard Lester Fowler, St. Peters, MO, and Tommy Lester Fowler (Cheyenne), Tupelo; brother, Robert J. Stroup (Ella Mae), Wren; grandchildren, Amy Bate, O’Fallon, MO; Amanda Fowler and Shaun Fowler, St. Peters, MO; Jason Becker, Brandy Brooke, and Brian Becker, Pearland, TX; Landen and Riley Fowler, Tupelo; great-grandchildren, Brayden and Haylee Becker, Pearland, TX; and Sammy Fowler, St. Peters, MO; several nieces and nephews; and special friend, Kathy Fowler, St. Peters, MO.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 7 sisters and 4 brothers.
A Funeral Service will be held at 10 AM, Wednesday, July 16 at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home with Bro. Chris Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery. Pallbearers will be John and Brian Becker; Tommy, Rick and Cheyenne Fowler; and Robert Stroup.
Visitation will be from 9 AM until the service hour, Wednesday at the funeral home.
