Russell Reed Lamb
Nettleton – Russell Reed Lamb, 78, passed away on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, in the Bigbee Community in Monroe County, Mississippi. He was born on December 7, 1945, in Marks, Mississippi to the late Stanley Lamb and Lara Underwood Lamb.
Russell grew up in the Carolina Community in a large family and attended the Carolina School system. At a young age, he married the love of his life, Emojeane Moore Lamb on May 11, 1963 and they were married almost 51 years before she passed away. Russell was a hardworking man and intelligent, and was employed as the head sewing machine mechanic for many years at Amory Garment manufacturing. A great provider for his family, Russell was blessed by God with two children and a large family. He was laid back, a simple man who enjoyed being with his family. Upon leaving he would often say “I guess I’m going to go now”.
He was a Christian and a member of New Chapel Methodist Church. In his downtime, he enjoyed playing and listening to good music, like Gospel, Country, and anything Elvis. He was so talented that he was self taught on almost every instrument and he thoroughly enjoyed worshipping at church through music. Russell enjoyed a good meal as well as fellowship with family and friends. Some of his favorite sayings when around family were “I love ya’ll sweet babies” and “I’ll De Clair”. Throughout his life, of all his accomplishments, he was most pleased with raising his family.
Russell will be missed dearly by his family and close friends. They know that he had a sweet reunion with his wife, Emojeane and that he is at peace. He took great care of his family and they are thankful for the man he was in their life.
He is survived by his son, Tim Lamb (Samantha), Nettleton; daughter, Tonya Williams (Tim), Maryville, TN; grandchildren, Lexie Williams, Jaleigh Williams, Mia Williams, Knox Williams, John-Reed Lamb, Sawyer Lamb, and Brooks Lamb; sisters, Debbie Keith (Donald), Nettleton, and Jewel Garret, Amory; brother, Jimmy Lamb, Nettleton; and a host of nieces and nephews.
