Pensacola, FL – Ruby Julian Sugg, 87, passed away on Thursday, April 16, 2015, at her residence under the care of hospice at home. Born on March 2, 1928, in Selma, AL, she was a daughter of the late C. M. Julian and Mae Priest Julian Crane.
Mrs. Sugg was a graduate of Selma High School and later received her Dietician degree from UT-Chattanooga. While working at Satsuma, AL, High School, overseeing the preparation of 1600 meals every day, she met her future husband, Harry Sugg, who was a food vendor for the school. On July 24, 1970, they were married. For 35 years, she worked as a Realtor in Pensacola and was a member of the Pensacola Board of Realtors. Mrs. Sugg was a faithful member of Crossroad Baptist Church, Pensacola. A hard-worker who was honest to a fault, she enjoyed spending time with her family, working in real estate, being active in her community, and boating on the Gulf, East Coast, and the Caribbean. Having a green thumb, Ruby enjoyed growing African violets, doing yard work, and listening to Easy Listening music.
Survivors include her husband of 45 years, Harry Sugg, Pensacola, FL; step-daughter, Kelly M. Sugg (Charles), Chunculla, AL; step-son, Harry C. Sugg, (Denise), Folsom, CA; 3 brothers; 5 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and several nieces & nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Sherry Spiers, Pensacola; son, Terry Cobb, Tuscaloosa; and a sister.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM, Monday, April 20 at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home, Amory with Bro. Danny Burks officiating. Music will be under the direction of Brian and Amanda Sugg. Burial will follow in New Hope Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her grandsons and nephews.
Visitation will be from 10 AM until the service hour on Monday at the funeral home.
