– Ruble "Popz" Hacker, 71, died on Friday, December 31, 2010, at Gilmore Memorial RMC, Amory. Born on February 12, 1938, in Monroe County, MS, he was a son of the late Ellis Corbin & Geneva Ray Parish Hacker.Mr. Hacker was a member of the Church of God of Prophesy. A good-hearted and determined man, he enjoyed the time spent with his family. He was a retired roofer and had worked in the shipyard in Pascagoula. Mr. Hacker enjoyed listening to Gospel music, hunting, fishing, racing cars and playing checkers.He is survived by his wife, Betty J. Hacker, Amory; daughters, Kathy H. Armstrong, Amory and Christina Garner and Melissa Davis, Newport, NC; son, Richard Hacker, Amory; sisters, Mary Lou Hyatt, Martha Gray, Carolyn Waters and Barbara Jones, all of Pascagoula, Debbie Jones and Betty Joiner, Forest, Jimmie Johnson, Aberdeen and Louise Young, Zion, IL; brothers, Lyn Hacker, Virginia, and Robert Hacker, Becker; 11 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, David E. Hacker; sisters, Ethel and Ruby Ray and Joann Ross; and brothers, Larry and Audie Hacker.A Funeral Service will be held at 2 PM, Sunday at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home, Amory with James Austin, District Overseer and Pastor Ed Clay officiating. Burial will follow in Center Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be Jason Armstrong, Golden Living Nursing Home staff, and the Gilmore Memorial RMC staff.For those who prefer, donations may be given to the funeral home to help with funeral expenses.Memories and condolences may be shared with the family at eepicklefuneralhome.com.
