Amory – Rubie Ling Gault, 91, died on Wednesday, June 22, 2011, at Oak Tree Plantation. Born on January 22, 1920, in Gattman, she was a daughter of the late Bessie Tate and David Albert Williams, Sr.
Mrs. Gault attended Bartahatchie Schools. During World War II, she worked at the Gulf Ordinance Plant. Mrs. Gault worked for Fines Department Store in Sulligent and later worked for many years as a supervisor with Glenn Manufacturing. Very outgoing and strong in her beliefs, she cherished time spent with her family and friends. Hardworking and twice widowed, she reared three boys by herself. A very giving lady, Mrs. Gault was a member of Depriest Chapel Freewill Baptist Church. She enjoyed Gospel music, the Grand Ole Opry, sewing, quilting, watching soap operas, and playing Rook every Friday night with her friends.
She is survived by her sons, Billy Wayne (Donna) Ling and Rick (Karen) Gault of Amory; sister, Frances Bevill of Oxford; grandchildren, Byron (Tammie) Ling, Anthony Ling, Melinda (Mike) Cruse, Al (Kim) Ling, and Paul (Heather) Gault; great-grandchildren, Jason (Brandi) Ling, Hope Cruse, Paige Cruse, James Ling, Ben Gault, and Wes Gault; great-great-grandchildren, J. C. Ling and Eva Rainey Ling; sisters-in-law, Kitty Williams of Amory and Linda Williams of Franklin, TN; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, James Ellis Ling; her second husband, Paul Boyd Gault; son, Girthie Ling; brothers, David A. Williams, Jr., James L. Williams, and Guy O. Williams; brother-in-law, Horace Bevill; sister-in-law, Emma Lou Williams; and a great-grandson, Cason Ling.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10 AM, Saturday, June 25, 2011, at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home, Amory with Bro. Don Taggart officiating. Burial will follow in Blair Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Van Rogers, Tommy Minich, Jackie Palmer, Billy Weeks, Fred Heckart, and Jimmy Forbus.
