Laurel – Roy Wayne Hoots, 63, died on Monday, April 28, 2014, in Laurel. Born on August 9, 1950, he was a son of the late Roy Young Hoots, Jr., and Rammie Lou “Sue” Faulkner Hoots.
Kind and generous, Wayne was very friendly, never met a stranger, and loved being around people. A prayer warrior, he was of the Baptist faith and loved to pray for people. Wayne enjoyed going to church, watching wrestling on TV, listening to Gospel music, putting puzzles together, and being with friends and his dog. He was most happy when spending time with his mommy and talking with people. Wayne was a member of ARC of Jones County.
He is survived by a sister, Rachel Williams (Aaron), Laurel; brother, Roger Hoots (Cindy), New Caney, TX; a host of nieces and nephews; and special friends, Aaron Williams, Wayne Dearman; and Stacy, Doris, and Angie Ledbetter.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11 AM, Saturday, May 17 at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home, Amory with Bro. Roger Hoots officiating. Inurnment will be in New Hope Cemetery.
