Rose Mary Owen Frantz
Aberdeen – Rose Mary Owen Frantz, 81, passed away on Thursday, August 27, 2020, while at Oak tree Manor Nursing Center, Amory, MS. She was born in Pontotoc, MS, on December 4, 1938, to Walter James and Montye M. Windham Owen.
Rose grew up in Pontotoc and met the love of her life, Frank Walton Frantz, in High School. After graduation, they married on February 16, 1956 and later in life they were blessed by God with a son. For the majority of her life, she worked very hard for her family in the honored position of housewife and mother. Initially their family traveled while Frank served in the US Navy and later they settled in Aberdeen. At one point, she also worked as a substitute teacher for Monroe County School.
Rose was a fun, feisty spirited woman, who applied no filter when speaking her opinion on matters. She was an amazing cook, wonderful homemaker, devoted wife, and a loving grandmother.
A Christian woman, she loved the Lord and was a member of Paine Memorial Methodist Church. Rose loved to listen to Gospel music and she adored the Gaithers. She loved her family and really enjoyed watching her grandchildren grow up. In her free time, she liked to travel, especially taking trips to the Mountains or to Jekyll Island in Georgia.
Her family is forever grateful for the many years of support, love and guidance she gave them. She will be missed greatly, yet the many memories, made over the years, will be cherished forever.
She is survived by her son, Kenneth Archer Frantz (Jennifer); grandchildren, Samuel “Sam” Kenneth Frantz, Victoria “Tori” Hope Frantz (Justin), Isabella “Belle” Rose Frantz, Brock Balducci, Bo Balducci (Sarah); great grandson, Malakai “Kai” Martin Stacy; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Milton and Joyce Threadgill.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Frank Walton Frantz; brothers, Keith Owen and James Owen; sister, Martha Owen Rutledge.
A graveside funeral service will be held on Sunday, August 30, 2020, at 2:00 pm at Jones Cemetery, Greenwood Springs Road, Monroe County, MS with Bro. Jack Inman and Bro. Sammy Washburn officiating.
A private family visitation will take prior to the service.
