Amory – Ron Aldridge, 60, passed away on Saturday, October 24, 2015, at Baptist Memorial Hospital, Columbus. Born on January 6, 1955, in Sulligent, AL, he was a son of Gene and Mozelle Swann Aldridge.
Ron graduated from Amory High School, Class of 1973 and from MSU with a BS in Accounting in 1977. On July 3, 1975, he married Sharon “Sherry” D. Pearson. Ron was a perfectionist as a self-employed accountant, working together with his wife for 39 years. In 2011, they merged with Watkins-Ward-Stafford, PLLC. In 2005, after a lot of hard work and preparation, he became a CPA. A Godly man of faith, he was a Deacon and dedicated member of Unity Baptist Church. Often working on fixing things around the church, his closest friends were his church family. Ron was a member of The Rotary Club of Amory and a past-treasurer. A quiet, loving, and very knowledgeable family man, he treasured “Hannah and Daddy” Saturday’s. Ron had a very special relationship with Ethan, who affectionately called him, “Bop Bop.” His favorite music was Old Time Gospel. Ron enjoyed fishing, hunting, and camping.
Survivors include his wife, best friend, and soulmate, Sharon “Sherry” Aldridge, Amory; mother, Mozelle Aldridge, Amory; daughter, Hannah Jackson (Chris), Starkville; grandson, Ethan Noah Jackson; sisters, Sherry Upton (Joe), Belden, and Rhonda Betts, Amory; brother, Steve Aldridge (Melinda), Amory; many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a grandson, William Isaac Jackson.
His Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM, Tuesday, October 27, 2015, at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home, Amory, with Bro. Ronnie Sutton and Bro. H. V. Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Hatley Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Brian Sutton, Carl Craig, Earnest Mitchell, Raymond Clark, Bro. Wade Sutton, Dale Sutton, and Hank Cantrell. Honorary pallbearer will be Ryan Seales.
Visitation will be from 5 – 8 PM, Monday, at the funeral home.
