Smithville – Robert C. “Frosty” Leech, 82, died on Wednesday, July 3, 2014, at NMMC, Tupelo. Born on October 8, 1931, in Smithville, he was a son of the late Jess Elder & Lena Lucinda Dill Leech.
Mr. Leech attended Smithville School and was a graduate of Shannon High School. He married Virginia “Gin” Dale Noe on May 6, 1955. Mr. Leech honorably served in the US Marine Corps, the US Army, and the Army National Guard. He worked at Rockwell, retired from Mueller Brass in 1989, and later worked for Fowlkes and Fowlkes. Mr. Leech was a member of Pearce Chapel Free Will Baptist Church. A great teacher who was loving, caring, and kind, he loved his family and enjoyed mowing his yard, gardening, and Gospel Bluegrass.
Survivors include his sons, Bill Leech and Phil Leech (Tara), Smithville; brothers, Boosey Leech (Barbara Ann) and Rex Leech (Sandra), Smithville; grandchildren, Coleman, Caleb, Jolee Dale, and Luke Leech; Nicki Leech, Terri Mitchell, and Brandon “Bud” Cox; great-grandchildren, Jamie and Chole Reeder; Jarrett Carithers; and Drew Mitchell; several nieces and nephews; and special friend, Neva Gaddy, Fulton.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Neil Leech; and brothers, Hansel, James, and Bobby Leech.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM, Monday, July 7 at Pearce Chapel Free Will Baptist Church with Bro. Van Dale Hudson officiating. Burial will follow in Pearce Chapel Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jack Horne, Tim Leech, Eddie Leech, Mike Leech, Maurice Pierce, and John Noe. Honorary pallbearers will be Bud Cox, Bobby Bennett, Charles Cummings, Duck Whitten, and Glen Bingham.
Visitation will be from 5 – 8 PM, Sunday at the Smithville Chapel of E. E. Pickle Funeral Home.
