Born on March 31, 1919, in Vina, AL, he was a son of the late Charles A. & Peggy Weatherford Ledbetter.Mr. Ledbetter was a lumberman, an employee of True Temper of Amory and owned his own fabric business for many years. He was a deacon and member of First Baptist Church, Amory over 50 years. Mr. Ledbetter enjoyed farming, gardening, carpentry work and his church.A retired US Army veteran, he honorably served his country in France and Germany during World War II. Mr. Ledbetter received the Bronze Star, Infantryman Army 1st Award, Occupational World War II Army Medal, Qualification Badge Combat Medal, and Victory World War II Medal.He is survived by his children, Robert M. “Mark” (Nancy) Ledbetter, Jr., Tupelo, Peggy (Ronald) Parham, Hatley, Rev. Tom (Donna) Ledbetter, Wilmington, DE, Celia (Mickey) McDonald, Baton Rouge, LA, Karen (Billy) Tiffin, West Point, and Rev. Terry (Marla) Ledbetter, Tupelo; brother, Burdette “Buddy” (Becky) Ledbetter, Jasper, AL; sister, Bertha Ross Williams, New Orleans, LA; 17 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; step-children, Robert (Connie) Marion, Randolph, NJ, Rebecca (Doug) Frields, Powatan, VA, and Pam (Anthony) Crvich, Portland, OR; and several step-grandchildren.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wives, Mary Helen Pate, Marcelle Caldwell, and Mary Jeane Ellis Marion; brothers, Coatsworth, Charles, Billy, Douglas and John Ledbetter; sisters, Eva Wilson and Maggie Frederick; and a grandson-in-law, Brent Poor.A Funeral Service will be held at 2 PM, Monday at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home with Dr. Allen Simpson officiating. Burial will follow in Masonic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Tim, Clayton, Andrew and Aaron Ledbetter; Mark, Clint Alan, and Tyler Clay; Clint McNinch; John Miller; and William and Thomas Tiffin. Honorary pallbearers will be the staff of Oaktree Plantation, Amory and the staff of Legacy Hospice.Memorials may be given to First Baptist Church, P. O.
