Bobby Jones
Amory, Miss.—Robert Frank “Bobby” Jones, 86, died Monday, March 10, 2014 at the Gilmore Memorial Regional Medical Center in Amory. Born August 31, 1927 in Amory, he was a son of Frank and Janey Velma Caldwell Jones. He was a graduate of Amory High School; he attended college, and was a veteran of U.S. Army. After his discharge from the Army he worked as a clerk for the Frisco Railroad and before his retirement, he worked as a machinist for Walker Mfg. and Bauer Dredging Company. A man of faith he was a member of the First Baptist Church in Amory. He enjoyed Mississippi State Football.
Graveside services will be 4 p.m. Monday at the Masonic Cemetery in Amory with Dr. Allen Simpson officiating. E.E. Pickle Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include one sister, Shirley Mathews (Gerald) of Pasco, WA; nephews, Ken Mathews (Alys) and Mike Mathews (Janice); grandniece, Mattie; and special friends, Frank and Claudia Bates.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Pallbearers will be Gerald K. Mathews, II, Michael G. Mathews, and Frank Bates.
