Robert Lowell Dabbs

Tupelo – Robert Lowell Dabbs, 74, died Thursday, May 17, 2012 at North MS Medical Center, Tupelo. Born July 31, 1937 in Quincy MS, he was the son of the late Lucian Riley and Lillian Corley Dabbs.

Mr. Dabbs was a graduate of Becker School and Mississippi State University, earning a B.S. degree in Finance. In 1960, he married Dolores Ann Pennington. Mr. Dabbs was employed in Tupelo at Bancorp South, until his retirement. A devoted father, he instilled strong family values in his four sons and deeply appreciated his many friends. Mr. Dabbs attended Harrisburg Baptist Church in Tupelo. His family, especially his grandchildren, gave him the most enjoyment in life.

Survivors include his sons, Robert Dabbs, Jr. (Leslie), Fallbrook, CA, Steve Dabbs (Terese), LaGrange, KY, Danny Dabbs (Cindy), Amory and Clifton Dabbs (Tonya), Bel Air, MD; sisters, Bonita Webb, Greenwood, MS, and Nadine Hayes (Richard), Birmingham; brother, Mickey Dabbs (Paula), Birmingham; grandchildren, Robert Dabbs, III, Jennifer Dabbs, Josh Dabbs, Cole Dabbs, Ridge Dabbs, Anna Claire Dabbs, Chance Dabbs, Faith Dabbs, and Whitley Dabbs; several nieces and nephews; and many close friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.

A Memorial Service will be held at 3 PM, Sunday, May 20, 2012, at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home with Bro. James Segars officiating.

Visitation will be from 1 – 2:45 PM, Sunday at the funeral home
