Robert Nelson Beckham, 83 passed away at his home October 14, 2024 after a strong fight against cancer. He was born September 28, 1941 and raised in Amory, MS. He graduated from Amory High School, then got BA degree from University of Miss. He married the love of his life, Elizabeth Ann Brown, in 1963.
One of his greatest enjoyments was watching his kids, grandkids and great grandkids grow up. He was a very loving Father who cared deeply for his family. He was our Go To when life got rough, always someone we could count on no matter what. He was strong, courageous and positive every day. Taught you to get up, brush yourself off and carry on, all while holding your hand and making sure you were all right. If he told you he would do something, he did it and never let you down. He always thought of others before himself. He always gave 110% and taught his children to do the same.
He was an Executive with Equifax, CSC and various companies for over 30 years. He took pride in his work and being a problem solver.
Boating was his passion. He loved spending time on the water with his family, and camping out. One of his dreams was to cross the Gulf in the boat which he did leaving from Pickwick Lake to Sarasota, Fl.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Ann of 61 plus years; two children, Reed Beckham, Mansfield TX and Marsha Button (Kevin) Sarasota, FL; five grandchildren (to whom he was "Poppy"), Ash Beckham, Rhys Beckham, Nikki O'Neil (Jimmy), Chad Button (Abby), and Ryan Beckham; six great- grandchildren, Alaina Beckham, Wyatt O'Neil, Siena Beckham, Grant O'Neil, and Kevin Button; and step grandchild, William Thomason;sister-in-law, Mary Jean Hollis; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas H. Beckham; mother, Effie Beckham; brothers, Fred and Richard Beckham; sisters, Mary Nell Fulton, Betty Holmes, Jean McKee, and Eleanor Welch; a niece; and several brothers and sisters in law.
