Robbie Merle Wilkerson

Amory– Robbie Merle (Cowart) Wilkerson, 72, became totally healed and met her Savior face to face on Saturday, May 18, 2024. She was born on January 8, 1952, in Amory, Mississippi, the only child of the late Eugene Cowart and Merle (Pennington) Cowart.

Robbie grew up in Monroe County and graduated from Amory High School. She then attended Mississippi College for Women where she received her BS and master’s degree in Elementary Education.

She was a member of 1st Methodist Church in Amory and loved the Lord.

Robbie married the love of her life Robert “Bob” Wilkerson on September 12, 1976. She was a devoted wife and they shared 47 wonderful years together.

She is remembered as a sweet, kind person, who loved to teach and loved the children she taught. She was most proud of the 16 years she spent in the classroom, with 14 of them being at Hatley Elementary School. She always enjoyed meeting and recognizing former students.

Robbie enjoyed spending time with family and the 5 cats that adopted her and Bob, reading, listening to rock and country music, traveling to the mountains, and spending time in nature.

She will be missed dearly, but her family and friends welcome the reunion they will have in Heaven.

She is survived by her husband Robert, and her mother-in-law, Joan Wilkerson. She was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Merle Cowart.

A Celebration of Life Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, May 23rd, 2024, at 11 a.m. at Amory Masonic Cemetery with Brother Wesley Pepper officiating.
