Born on September 13, 1962, in Amory, he was a son of Ruble Guin “Whit” and Brenda Kay Bickerstaff Whitlock.Ricky was a graduate of Stone Mountain High School, Class of 1981. He worked with his parents the family Upholstery Business. A Christian, Ricky was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed listening to 80’s Rock music and Country music; collecting Eagles, coins guns, and knives; deer hunting; and playing softball in his younger years. Dedicated and having a big heart, Ricky was very devoted to his family. Loving children, he loved spoiling his nieces and nephews, especially during Christmas and on their birthdays. Ricky’s pride and joy was his 1988 Chevrolet IROC car. He always looked forward to family vacations in Florida and gathering with family for Sunday dinners. After suffering a severe stroke that partially paralyzed him, Ricky’s determination allowed him to do about anything he put his mind in order to live a normal lifestyle.He is survived by his parents, Ruble Guin “Whit” and Brenda Kay Whitlock, Stone Mountain, GA; sisters, Gay Kersh, Conyers, GA, Sandra Andrews, Seattle, WA, and Michelle Crompton, Covington, GA; brother, Charlie Whitlock, Norcross, GA; nieces and nephews, Cory, Chris and Chad Kersh; Tony Andrews, E3 Airman First Class Jake Andrews, USAF, and Tech Sgt. Jesse Andrews, Air Force JROTC; Clint, Kristina and Nick Crompton; and Charlie and Kimberly Whitlock; and special friend, Becky Knight. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Ruble Whitlock and Mr. & Mrs. C. B. “Son” Bickerstaff; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2 PM, Friday, March 25 at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home with Bro. Tommy Whaley officiating. Burial will follow in Masonic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Cory, Chris and Chad Kersh; Tony, Jake and Jesse Andrews; and Clint and Nick Crompton. Honorary pallbearer will be Charlie Whitlock.Visitation will continue until the service hour on Friday.Memories and condolences may be shared with the family at eepicklefuneralhome.com.
