Holly Springs - Richie Wesley Suggs, 61, of Holly Springs, passed away at his home on February 6, 2024. He was born in Smithville, Mississippi, on April 15, 1962, to John Wesley (J.W.) Suggs and Lella Cole Suggs.

Richie grew up in Monroe County, graduated from Hatley High School in 1980 and then attended Itawamba Junior College. He was an intelligent man who was very talented with his hands as he was a Master Electrical Mechanic. He worked for Toyota in Blue Springs, MS as well as at Carrier Freight Company in Collierville, TN. Richie was a staunch believer in preserving the 2nd Amendment and he believed in defending our liberties and rights in this country by training his whole life. He was a member of the NRA as well as IDPA and the Ridge Crossing Shooting Club in Saltillo, MS.

His friends would tell you he was an awesome friend, and was very well liked. Richie was easy going and friendly and was loved dearly by his family. He married the love of his life, Amy Suggs, and together they shared many wonderful years together. He believed in Lord and he was Baptist. After suffering a cardiac arrest, God helped him rebuild his life. He enjoyed listening to music from the 80’s and going out to eat with family and friends.

In his downtime, he enjoyed all things outside especially being at his family farm in Smithville, MS. He loved going to the shooting range, with Competitive Marksmanship being his passion, as well as boating, horseback riding, hunting, and fishing. He had a huge heart for animals and he rescued them and ensured they were cared for properly.

Richie will be missed so much yet the memories made through the years will be cherished forever.

He is survived by his wife, Amy Brown Suggs, Holly Springs; a son, William Robichaud (Christy), Myrtle; and a daughter, Kristen Chandler (Nicholas), Pensacola, Florida; four grandchildren, Laken, Karianna, Madison, and McKenzie; and a great-grandson, Kash.
