Amory – Richard F. Adams, 84, died on Sunday, June 10, 2012, at Oak Tree Plantation. Born on June 26, 1927, in Clay City, KY, he was a son of the late Richard and Ida May Clemons Adams.
Mr. Adams was a graduate of Clay City, KY, High School. He married Opal Mae Callahan. Retiring from International Paper, Mr. Adams was a lab technician. He was a High Priest and a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Tupelo. With his life being guided by his church and his family, Mr. Adams cherished spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A loving and cheerful man, he was an avid Cincinnati Reds fan, enjoyed Westerns, and listened to Country music.
He is survived by his daughter, April Adams, Cincinnati, OH; daughter-in-law, Jane Prewitt (Richard), Smithville; son, Larry Adams (Karen), Hamilton, OH; sisters, Edna and Bertha Adams of Kentucky; grandchildren, Doug Adams (Stephanie), Smithville, Glenn Adams (Misty), Amory, Richard Prewitt (Tonia), Houston, Phillip Prewitt (Shannon), Smithville, Eric Prewitt (Kathryn), Tupelo, Jennifer Adams, and Andy and Matt Bingle; great-grandchildren, Steve Adams, Elaina Adams, Riley Adams, Brady and Andrew Prewitt, Aiden Prewitt, and Carson, Tyler, and Kristen Bingle; great-great-grandchildren, Ethan, Cameron, and Jocelyn Razer; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Opal Adams, and a son, Steven Adams.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 7 PM, Monday, June 11, at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home with Bishop Matt Westcott, Bro. Gene Voyles, and Bro. Ira Kennedy officiating. Burial will be held at a later date in Dale Cemetery, Connersville, IN.
Visitation will be from 5:00 – 6:45 PM, Monday, at the funeral home.
