Rebecca Chandler

Rebecca Chandler, 78, passed away Thursday, February 20, 2025 in Tupelo, MS. She was born July 13th, 1946 to Clovis Chandler and Hilda Hollis Chandler, in Vernon, Alabama, and attended Vernon High School. She worked in various industries and trades throughout her working career.

She enjoyed life to the fullest through simple pleasures, cherishing the smallest moments. As a devoted Mother, she was passionate about her family, loving them beyond measure. She was the matriarch of the family, showing strength to overcome adversities, yet gentle nurturing the wellbeing of her family.

She was a remarkable woman with incredible work ethic, balancing her work and family life. Her knowledge and skills demonstrated her uncanny adaptability and knack for problem solving. In her free time, she was very artistic and enjoyed interior decorating, sewing and crafts, thrifting, and working in her yard.

She was a member of the First Free Will Baptist Church in Amory and was a very devout Christian. Her faith guided her and gave her peace throughout life.

She is survived by one brother, Ray Chandler (Norma) of Caledonia, five children, Richard Hood of Fulton, Rhonda (Frank) Swider of Abbeville, Chris Forbus of Melbourne, FL, Jennifer (Freddie) Minor of Columbus, Jon Matthew Forbus of Aberdeen, and 11 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her Father and Mother, one brother (Hollis Chandler), and one sister (Kawatha Koonce).

The family requests that any memorials and/or donations be offered to the Fulton Methodist Church Food Pantry, 301 E. Main St, Fulton, MS 38843.
